Pop superstar Justin Bieber shared a video on Instagram showing a breakfast meeting with music executive Brandon Silverstein at SKYLRK in Tokyo, sparking interest among industry watchers familiar with both figures’ recent ventures.

The meeting brings together Bieber, who launched his streetwear brand Skylrk in July 2025 after years of development, and Silverstein, who has rapidly expanded Avex Music Group’s presence in both Japanese and American markets since becoming CEO in March 2025.

Brandon Silverstein’s Track Record at Avex Music Group

Since taking the helm at Avex Music Group, Silverstein has built a roster that includes producers behind some of 2025’s biggest hits. Elkan, signed to AMG’s publishing division, produced Drake’s “Nokia” which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and contributed to Rihanna’s “Friend of Mine” from the Smurfs soundtrack. Grant Boutin’s work on Tate McRae’s latest album resulted in multiple chart-toppers including “Sports Car” and “TIT FOR TAT.”

The company acquired 100% of S10 Music Publishing’s catalog when Silverstein assumed his current role, giving Avex control of Billboard No. 1 hits including Bieber’s “Peaches,” Tate McRae’s “Greedy,” Doja Cat’s “Agora Hills,” and Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby.”

Silverstein’s operations now span dual studio facilities in West Hollywood and Los Angeles, plus offices in New York, with recent executive appointments establishing an East Coast/West Coast structure. The company employs over 1,500 people globally and generated approximately $1 billion in revenue in 2024.

What Justin Bieber Has Built with Skylrk

Bieber officially launched Skylrk in July 2025 after developing the brand since at least 2023, when he first appeared wearing prototype sneakers with the brand’s name embossed on the soles. The line features earth- and candy-toned sweatsuits, platform slides, futuristic sunglasses, and basketball uniforms, with lead designer Finn Rush-Taylor handling 3D modeling and footwear design.

The brand represents a departure from Drew House, the label Bieber co-founded in 2019 with former stylist Ryan Good. “I Justin Bieber am no longer involved in this brand,” the singer wrote on Instagram in April regarding Drew House. “If your rocking with me the human Justin Bieber don’t waste ur money on Drew House.”

Skylrk’s product line includes collaborations with Bieber’s wife, Hailey Bieber, who contributed designs for items including a leather zip-up bomber. The brand’s Instagram account has accumulated over half a million followers despite maintaining an empty grid ahead of its official launch.

Why the Brandon Silverstein and Justin Bieber Connection Matters

The relationship between Silverstein’s companies and Bieber’s creative circle runs deeper than this single meeting. Avex Music Group signed We The Band, Bieber’s longtime backing musicians, in June 2025. Band member Harv, who joined S10 Publishing in 2021, co-wrote and co-produced “Peaches” and worked on Bieber’s “Swag,” which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard charts.

The music executive has partnerships with JAY-Z’s Roc Nation and maintains relationships with industry figures including Ryan Tedder and Max Matsuura, Avex’s founder. His management roster through S10 includes Myke Towers, Big Sean, and Madison Bailey.

Avex recently announced Artist Advisor Services, a division offering infrastructure and capital investment for what Silverstein described as artists “who feel they have outgrown the traditional artist-manager relationship.” The division launches in early 2026.

The Tokyo meeting occurs as both figures operate from positions of creative independence—Bieber steering his own fashion venture and Silverstein leading a company focused on artist-led businesses and global market expansion.
